Various A-list guests – including the likes of Will Smith, LeBron James and Kim Kardashian – have been able to catch a glimpse of Messi in action, but Los Angeles-based Fonsi is still waiting on his opportunity. He intends to put that right, with the Puerto Rican singer very much in the market for entrance passes.

The ‘Despacito’ star, who is having to show patience in a bid to catch a live Messi performance, has told Spanish media outlet of the impact that an Argentine icon has made in North America: “I haven't been able to go see a game yet but I'm crazy about going. My son is also crazy about meeting Messi. God willing, we'll go see him soon. Messi's arrival has been an injection of energy for sport in the United States that was needed. Football there is not the same as it is here and I feel that it has helped a lot.”
WHAT NEXT?
Inter Miami have already taken in one visit to LA this season, as they played out a 1-1 draw with the Galaxy that saw Messi snatch a 92nd-minute equaliser. Any return to the City of Angels will have to come in cup competition, or Fonsi will have to snap up tickets for a fixture outside of California.
