Liverpool are reportedly ‘interested’ in a January move for Galatasary right-back Sacha Boey.
The Lowdown: Ramsay injury
Calvin Ramsay was signed from Aberdeen in the summer with an injury, which has meant that his senior game time has been limited to just two matches in total over all competitions so far this season.
By contrast, first-choice right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has played 20 times already this campaign, and will need to be managed in the second part of the term if the Anfield outfit are still in multiple major competitions.
The Latest: Boey interest
As per French news outlet Jeunes Footeux, the Merseyside club are ‘interested’ in signing Boey in the January transfer window, but will face competition from fellow Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, as well as Lyon in France, for his signature.
Palace are also willing to put an offer of €16m (£14m) on the table for him, a price that the Reds would likely have to match.

The Verdict: Smart move
With Ramsay’s ongoing injury, and Alexander-Arnold’s need for a rest for certain games, signing Boey in January certainly seems like a smart move.
Hailed as a ‘talented’ defender by journalist Zach Lowy, the 22-year-old ranks as Galatasaray’s second-best performer in the Turkish top-flight this term, with no other player in the squad making as many tackles (3.2) or interceptions (1.8) per game than him so far (WhoScored).
The Frenchman shares the same agent as Reds attacker Roberto Firmino, which could help push through a January move ahead of their competitors.
